Considered one of Boston’s most talented chefs, Chef Evan Deluty possesses depth of culinary experience and mature cooking style. Upon graduation from the Culinary Institute of America, Deluty continued his education by working in Paris at the world famous Le Grenadin. He returned to the United States to work in New York City at the renowned Lutece and at the three-star Peacock Alley at the Waldorf Astoria hotel. Chef Deluty, a Newton, Massachusetts native, came home to Boston in 1997 to become executive chef at Up Stairs at the Pudding. In June 1999. Chef Deluty opened the critically acclaimed Bistro 5 in West Medford. Evan and his restaurants have received both local and national attention. In the spring of 1999, Evan opened Restaurant Torch at 26 Charles Street on Boston’s Historic Beacon Hill and in May of 2005, he celebrated the opening of his third restaurant Stella which is named after his daughter. Stella is located in Boston’s hip South End “SoWa” neighborhood, and Evan and the Stella family invite all to join them for an unforgettable experience.


Ruben was born and raised in Mexico. He graduated ICUM in 2003 with a culinary arts and restaurant administration degree. Ruben decided to move to France to pursue a degree in pastry. At that time Ruben was working with great chefs at Le Val Jolie and Grand Hotel DeGerardmer.  After two years of training Ruben moved back to Mexico and joined Club Med Resorts in Ixtapa as Chef De Partie. He became an executive chef for club Med after four years. Ruben has traveled all over the world in in countries like Morocco, France, Turkey, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Turks and Caicos and USA.
He joined Stella family in September 2012 as General Manager, enjoying every single day at this beautiful restaurant.


Mario and Gio Rivera were born and raised in El Salvador, coming to the USA in 2005. Mario began as a grill cook, and Gio as dishwasher at El Teatro. Gio joined Stella family in October 2005, followed by Mario in 2006.
After years of training and learning with chef Deluty to share his passion for food, Mario is now our Chef De Cuisine, and Gio our Sous Chef,
bringing a great product and consistency to the table.
